So I had this crazy idea to write a novel. “Everyone said it was a joke or that I was crazy because the chances of the film being released were a hundred to one, even a thousand to one. Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars competed to play the Jackal in the 1973 film, but the role went to then-unknown Edward Fox because director Fred Zinnemann thought he could blend in with the crowd. Why she was cast in this role when there are so many actresses who could do it better is beyond me. Her character is uninteresting, just another obsessed agent role. Eddie Redmayne can do it all, his range as an actor is impressive, from stage dramas to musicals to movies. He never disappoints. In this role, he is solid in everything he does. The plot is interesting and engaging…funny how we are rooting for the Jackal…not MÍ agent 6. The locations in the series are stunning and the plot is extremely exciting. It doesn’t compare to the original, it’s a worthy adaptation for our times.
